Weird Homes Tour – New Orleans

Heather and Mark’s weird home stands across the street from Up/Unique Products, their shop on historic Magazine Street. Heather and Mark first met fighting over a rubber chicken at a Mardi Gras parade. When the dust settled, they bonded over a shared love for recycled artwork and carried that love into their home.

Heather and Mark are both artists and design and build handmade lighting, gifts and accessories. Their work appears in various restaurants, clubs, bars and galleries throughout the United States.  Featuring found and recycled art with a focus on sustainability, Heather and Mark’s home acts as a veritable art gallery. Paintings and creations along adorn every wall and surface.  Much of their lighting comes from recycled Mardi Gras beads and that much-fought over rubber chicken now serves a much-loved lamp.  The home also comes with a much…ahem… colorful past.  We’ll let you ask them what that means.

Come visit the Magazine Street Remaker Home colorful collections and prepare to be amazed by the imagination of two of NOLA’s premier recycling artists who have been “trashforming” New Orleans since 1999.

The Weird Homes Tour’s self-driving and virtual home tours showcase unique and interesting homes in cities all across the world.  They are highly Instagram and social media worthy and family-friendly events where photos are welcome.
