Weird Homes Tour – Houston

One can describe Kelly Gale Amen’s work and downtown urban loft as shocking and deliciously enchanting.

Kelly’s compound overflows with juxtaposing extremes that just seem to perfectly fit together. The space feels humorous, dark, sentimental, eclectic, and erotic. Tribal artifacts flank contemporary sculptures. Amen’s childhood portrait of his pet dog sits next to a religious oil painting.  Unique pieces of furniture he designed stand in front of  photos of those pieces on fire.

Amen also survived cancer founded of the nonprofit Cancer Below the Belt.  Through humor, he wants to spread awareness of the cancers “below the belt” that often go unchecked. When you see him don’t be surprised if he asks you to #GetCaughtWithYourPantsDown!
