Weird Homes Tour – Detroit

Matt and Sara’s dwelling is anything but your typical apartment.  The double decker infinity pool is your first glimpse into what will surely be sensory overload. The view from the 2nd floor veranda is nothing short of an oasis straight out of 1960’s Palm Springs. Once inside the apartment and you’ll be intrigued by their maximized mid-century modern museum. A well curated space, filled with eclectic art and kitschy knick-knacks, around every corner. An inspired place, where an Alf doll, a ham hock pillow and a mannequin leg planter all seem quite logical. You wouldn’t want to get rid of them for the world!

A stroll through the space will inevitably lead you to the infamous “Boom Boom Room”. This is Matt and Sara’s super-sized four season Tiki lounge. It will make you instantly want to drink a Mai Tai (or 3) with the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Matt and Sara’s home shows that even in an apartment you can make your home wonderfully weird!

The Weird Homes Tour’s self-driving and virtual home tours showcase unique and interesting homes in cities all across the world.  They are highly Instagram and social media worthy and family-friendly events where photos are welcome.
