Weird Homes Tour -Austin

In University Hills there stands the home of Friday Night Lights’ own Tim Riggins. After filming, Riggins’ house found new life as Cathy and Miriam’s Cabinet of Curiosities home. While the home no longer exists you can tour it via Virtual Reality.

A police car hood, complete with working siren, greets visitors as they enter to a house bursting at the seams with oddities. A WWII portable birthing/surgical table stands in for a credenza. A Victorian coffin dolly, complete with antique gynecological devices, serves as a coffee table. The most comfortable chair in the house is a 1930’s dental chair.  And lamps made from x-rays, silkworm cocoons, and a pink 1950’s salon hairdryer illuminate it all.

Step into the guest bathroom’s blood spattered walls and and grab a washcloth from a hollowed out armadillo. All the while 15 muskrat skulls and several grenades thoughtfully watch over everything.
