Weird Homes Tour – Austin

Tucked away behind Ben White you will find the the old site of Austin’s infamous KAOS pirate radio station that still carries the old Austin spirit.  Also known as “Jester House”, the home of artist Dolce Malatesa and Bill Sherborne, greets visitors with Dolce’s large “paint by numbers” style mural of a lush oasis that takes up the entire front of the home.  In fact you will discover surprise murals on random fences, garages, and sheds, you name it.  It’s all part of Dolce’s goal to eventually wrap her entire home in one giant mural.

The inside of Dolce’s House is just as colorful and chock-full of artwork by Dolce, her two children (who created everything from Star Wars mash ups to puppets) and artist friends.  Come by, relax on one of Dolce’s custom made pillows and textiles and enjoy a random puppet show.
