Weird Homes Tour – Houston

Rebecca Lowe, award-winning artcar artist, has been making art in unusual places her entire life.  She started as a young adult by drawing on her clothes to individualize them, and hasn’t stopped yet. She created her first art car in 1998 and has gone on to make two others.  Her third, Map of Space and Time, she drives everyday, everywhere she goes in this galaxy and beyond.

In 2006 she initiated her house as an art base when she created her stay puff mailbox and started painting her home, dubbed House of Tree, in 2009 over the next 3 years, all by hand.  House of Tree is a conglomeration and intersection of color and artistic styles.  A studio/gallery, a home, and a good place to climb to the top of, House of Tree inspires the inhabitants as well as the neighborhood by being a vibrant daily reminder of what’s possible when the rules are rewritten to make more sense than ever.
