Weird Homes Tour – Houston

Isaac Cohen has been designing & creating masterpieces from wood since an early age and is now known for his wooden art cars.  For his 50th birthday, Issac decided to create an entire car made of wood. 5000 man hours later ,he had Splinter a masterpiece decked out in intricate inlaid patterns and remote controlled gadetry.  After that, Issac began feverishly working on additional art cars.

These include wooden cars Slider and Big J, a fighter jet truck and a golf-cart sized version of Splinter. His current project commemorates five brave Houston firefighters lost in a deadly fire with a full sized wooden firetruck.

Issac’s industrial work space compound holds many hidden gems.  Come meet Issac and get an up close look at his cars, studio, chickens and a family’s factory – Classy Art.  As a bonus, you get an inside look at his neighbor’s home. A converted warehouse with its own unique industrial aesthetic, this home also has some surprises. A boat serves as a back porch with some original seats from the Astrodome.
