Carpenter and artist, Sarah Burton likes to reuse funerary equipment for her classic uptown shotgun home.  This gives everything a spooky, fun flair. Notably, the home features Ms. Mae’s temporary casket. It has been converted into a one-of-a-kind sofa in honor of a one-of-a-kind woman.

Who was Ms. Mae? Well, she was the beloved owner of popular The Club Ms. Mae’s on Magazine Street. People knew the club as one where the drinks were cheap and the doors never closed. People knew Ms. Mae as the tough-as-nails manager who didn’t tolerate cursing or any else inappropriate.

So kick back on the (temporary) final resting place of one of NOLA’s most famous bar owners!
