Pittsburgh, PA

Finding and collecting vintage for 35+ years, Elena lives with her husband Frankie in a 100 year old house that is as lovingly curated as it is colorful! They call it Atomic Bouffant. Inspired by a medley of mod space age atomic, 1950’s rock n’ roll, groovy 1960’s beach party movies, and Old Hollywood Regency glamour, she combines their mutual obsession with the past as an homage to bygone eras, as well as to their nostalgic attachment to the bold aesthetics and pop culture they each grew up with in the 1960’s and 70’s, respectively.

Besides furniture, current mini mid-century collections displayed throughout their home include radios and record players (which Frankie repairs and restores), records, cameras, big-eyed bouffant Bradley Dolls, lamps, poodles, and the color pink with copious amounts of kitsch tying it all together! And you’d also be hard-pressed to not find at least one reference to vintage monsters in each room. Follow Atomic Bouffant on Instagram.

You can also rent the interior by the hour for small photo or video shoots via Peerspace.
