Weird Homes Tour – Portland

This Portland icon is more than a houseboat, the Aqua Star is a floating masterpiece.  Built in 1984, current owners, Buzz and Pam Gorder wanted a home that was a little different with plenty of curves and color and boy did they get it! Buzz designs attention grabbing trade booths for a living has has applied the same principles here. One can not miss the Aqua Star’s iconic silos and domes. That along with and it’s head-to-toe aluminum and you will almost think you’ll looking at a floating observatory.

The home inspires with artistic features around every corner. First, eclectic custom made modern 3D art sculptures fill the home. Next, the 15-foot ceilings with floor-to-ceiling windows make everything feel spacious and bright. And finally, the polished steel walls and sculptures bring the water indoors. They reflect the natural surrounding and mood, changing through the day and seasons.
