Weird Homes Tour – Detroit

A quiet eastside Detroit neighborhood hides a handmade wonderment. Once officially condemned and crumbling at its seams, Ron’s Recycled Roost now showcases custom woodworking and true Detroit DIY-style. A home rebuilt with reclaimed, recycled, donated and found materials and hidden relics.

You will become amazed at Ron’s craftsmanship from the roof  shipping palette shingles to the lath board mosaic walls. From the upcycled church pew pull chain toilet to the cabin-like vaulted ceiling. You will fall in love with its colorful and lighthearted kitchen with some seriously notable tile work. And don’t miss his collection of hand built guitars.
