Weird Homes Tour – Austin

The Crowleys love water.  Don and Heidi met while at a triathlon under the 360 bridge and their life has revolved around water since.  Their kids, learning to swim at just 4 weeks old, have grown up with it. When asked about how they feel about water, they said “I can’t escape it! It has to be in my LIFE!” 

Not surprising that almost every aspect of their Aqua House revolves around the element of water.  To start off, you can’t miss the giant heart shaped pool. When the Crowleys were looking for a new home, they stopped when they saw this pool. This wasn’t the house they wanted, this was the house they needed.  Besides family fun, Don also uses it to teach basic swimming lessons as well as more advanced water safety training for lifeguards. No wonder you’ll find Aquaman stuff everywhere. Don proudly held an affinity for Aquaman as a kid and has made it a mission to protect others in the water. Aquaman figurines stand watch through the Aqua House.

You’ll also find full fledged tiki rooms and fun tiki trinkets everywhere. By the end of it, you’ll be ready for a luau. And to help you prepare, the Crowleys have a few good spam recipes. Be sure to ask for about their award winning  “Moo Gou Gui Spam” and “Spam La Va, Pecan Spie”.
