The Davids’ Pop Art House

Posted in 2019 Detroit Weird Homes, All Weird Homes

From the outside of Judy and John Davids’ home you might think it’s your run-of-the-mill modest 1916 bungalow but you would be very, very wrong.  The house is like a large pop art installation where practically every wall is painted with either a bold color or covered with a psychedelic print.

All this color is seamlessly melded with a collage of art and decorations from every decade.  60’s Warhol inspired paintings and recent band posters mix surprisingly well with mid-century modern furniture, and 70’s accent pillows. It shouldn’t all go together but somehow it does. As an important note, much of the amazing art you can see comes from the Soul Studio — a sanctuary for budding artists with special needs.

It’s all smart, fun, loud and absolutely perfect.
